Semefab’s Fab Operations have an impressive track record of process development, process induction and foundry supporting Silicon based MEMS, CMOS and ASIC technologies.

Founded in 1986, the CMOS1 fab supports a diverse process portfolio of 4” CMOS and Bipolar technologies.

With a £13.6 million pound investment, and as part of the UK MNT Initiative, Semefab’s MEMS2 fab became operational during August 2009 supporting the market with 6” and 4” MEMS.

Using its development business model, the MEMS2 fab commercialises research & development in a cost effective manner, whilst its volume model supports a customer’s volume demand. Development projects transfer seamlessly from development to volume utilising the same foundry equipment and the same personnel.

To compliment the MEMS2 fab and provide complete 6” foundry of CMOS & MEMS technologies Semefab is building its CMOS3 fab.
CMOS3 is scheduled to become operational during October 2010.

Semefab's commitment to quality, continuous improvement and environmental compliance is acknowledged by ISO9001 and ISO14001 accreditation.

Semefab is located in Glenrothes, on the East coast of Scotland, a 45 minute drive from Edinburgh International Airport and an 80 minute drive from Glasgow International Airport.

Semefab's current workforce consists of 89 employees within Glenrothes, Scotland, UK site.
