Semefab wins Fife Civic Recognition Award

Semefab has been awarded a prestigious 'Certificate of Recognition' for its work in the fight against Covid-19.

The awards are the first ever 'Fife Civic Recognition Awards' which are co-ordinated by Fife Voluntary Action, Fife Council and members of the Fife Partnership as well as being endorsed by the Lord Lieutenant and the Lord Provost of Fife.

The award was given in recognition of Semefab's contribution to the fight against Covid-19 in 2020 and 2021 during which time Semefab produced over 12 million non-contact temperature sensors for forehead temperature monitoring guns and supplied low pressure sensors to control breathing in ventilators and respirators enabling differential air pressure to be maintained between public areas and hospital isolation wards and ICU’s thus helping to minimise the unnecessary spread of the virus.

Semefab introduced a 24hr shift pattern to meet the demands of this extraordinary challenge, none of which would have been possible without the co-operation and willingness of the Semefab staff who continued to come into their workplace whilst the rest of the country was in lockdown. A sure case of going above and beyond the call of duty which has been duly recognised in the giving of this award and of which we are very proud to receive
